Key Stage Three – Humanities – Years 7 and 8
For Years 7 and 8 all pupils study Humanities (6 lessons a fortnight). The subject is split into different themes, allowing the pupils to engage with the most important issues facing humanity in Swansea, Wales, the United Kingdom and the World. The themes also allow our pupils to investigate the issues of sustainability and social change and, help to develop skills necessary to interpret and articulate the past and present.
Key Stage Four – Years 9, 10 and 11
All pupils at Pentrehafod School study Religious Studies. During Year 8 pupils are given their option choices where they can either stop studying the Humanities subjects or further their understanding by studying one or all three subjects – Geography, History and Sociology.
Qualifications Offered and Examination Boards:
At GCSE all pupils study WJEC Religious Studies.
- WJEC Geography
