Chelbie Williams, Year 11, wins Virgin Scholarship to India
Chelbie Williams, Year 11 PACE student, has just been told the exciting news that she will travel to India this summer as part of a life-changing experience. Chelbie got very interesting in this opportunity when Mr Chris John, lead teacher of the WBQ team, made the link in year 10 and then Chelbie applied this year. Her application, one of over 1000, was described as ‘outstanding’ by the organisers. Chelbie wrote a moving personal statement and also a poem. Her Key Stage 3 form teacher, Mr David Lewis, then set the poem to music.
Chelbie is thrilled and excited by this opportunity and is keen to represent the school. Chelbie has thanked her teachers, but has singled out Ms Miller, former PACE co-ordinator, for special thanks.
We wish Chelbie every success in this project and look forward to reporting on her adventures on the Pentrehafod website.
