Eisteddfod 2020 – Glyndwr reigns supreme!

The Pentrehafod Eisteddfod Committee had been meeting for months to organise this year’s Eisteddfod.
The event, held on 29th February, was a celebration of stage and sporting events, as well as the usual range of Homework competitions.
There was a very high standard of work, including contemporary dance. Ellie Fencott deserves special recognition for her individual and self- choreographed dance, which she presented to both year 7 and year 8.
This year the decision was made to bring both year 7 and 8 together for the House Choirs and the adding up of the final scores. It was an exciting end of the day with Glyndwr claiming the trophy by just 8 points!
Many thanks for the collaboration of so many staff: the Welsh department worked well with PE teachers and music and drama staff to create a wide range of opportunities for all students. And a special thank you to our very own Miss K A Davies who ran both on stage Eisteddfod events, with both humour and style.
Also huge thanks for the army of students who took part in so many ways, both off stage and on. An excellent day and a real celebration of our Welsh culture and heritage.
