Headteacher’s Update – COVID-19
25th September, 2020
Dear Parents/Carers,
I hope that this finds you and your family safe in challenging circumstances. As a school we are working very hard to keep our children safe but also to prioritise teaching and learning and have good systems in place for home learning, if we should need to close down some year groups. I hope that we will not need to do this.
Yesterday, we had confirmation that a Pentrehafod Student had tested positive. We worked closely with the family and Track and Trace and did not need to take any further action. The family had followed all processes and were already self–isolating so there had been no contact with any other staff and students.
Thank you to so many of you who are following all the guidance and doing everything we can possibly do to minimise risk. If you do need to keep your son/daughter home due to a family member with symptoms then please keep in regular contact and we can send work home.
Please can I stress that you encourage your child to follow the COVID-19 rules:
· Follow all the hand hygiene rules – we ask students to sanitize regularly
· Wipe down their work areas following a teaching session
· Follow their start and end times
· Use their zoned areas and the zoned toilets
· No physical interaction
· Wear a face covering in corridors or busy spaces
I will continue to keep you informed of the situation at Pentrehafod. You may also want to download the new NHS COVID-19 free APP as this all the latest up-to-date advice.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any concerns,
Yours faithfully,
Jennifer Ford
