Covid-19 Home Learning Update for Parents and Students
We hope that you and your families are well.
Our dedicated staff will continue to ensure that they provide as much support to our students as possible during this time.
During the Summer Term, each subject-area will provide one weekly task for students to complete at home. This will be set through the medium of Microsoft Teams. We understand that this system will be unfamiliar to some (both students and staff) and that it may take a while for us all to get used to working in this way. In the Home Learning area of the website, you will find a link to a home-learning tutorial for students, which will hopefully help them to navigate Microsoft Teams. This link is also on our Twitter feed.
Several pieces of work might be set by across the curriculum at one time, and students may become overwhelmed and feel that they need to complete it all at once. This is not the case. In the Home Learning area there is a recommended Timetable to help students to organise themselves into a steady routine.
As a school, we are advising that students complete two hours a day of school work.
Times-Table Rock Stars is also up and running for our Year 7 and 8 students and this is a fun way to keep those basic skills ticking over. Details of how to login can be found in the Home-Learning area.
We do appreciate that not all of our students can access the digital platform for Home Learning. Please contact the school if your child is unable to do so as there is a plan in place to address this.
Finally, a key message to our students is not to get stressed about the work that is being provided. We are here to support them. If they cannot download tasks or upload work, then please encourage them to email their teachers who will do their utmost to help.
If you have any queries about Home Learning or anything else, then please get in touch, via email or telephone. Learning Leaders and Form Tutors are working hard to ensure that there are clear lines of communication to support you at this time.
Please keep safe and maintain a positive attitude.
Kind Regards.
