You will be aware that all schools in Wales will not be open for education from Monday 23rd March. This is a Welsh Government directive.
We will be open tomorrow (Thursday) and Friday of this week.
All students in school today were spoken to about this at 2:30pm today. We tried to reassure students (many are naturally anxious) and also make sure that every student is prepared to learn/work independently. Students in year 7 and 8 were given large packs of work; year 9, 10 and 11 were given some packs but have also been shown how to access work online.
We appreciate that health is the key priority at this time, but also know that children/young people work better when there are routines in place. Each student should be working for a set amount of hours each day. We do not know how long we will be closed for and we want to make sure that habits and routines that benefit learning are not lost.
All students know that they can email key staff and these email addresses are available on the website. Staff can support students in remote learning.
Please do contact the school if there is something you need and we can try to support you.
Thank you to those parents/carers who have already filled in the HWB survey for emergency childcare services. If you have not done this then can you do this as a matter of urgency so we share the information with the Local Authority tomorrow morning. This is an urgent request.
These are very uncertain times and we will work together, as a community, to support our children and each other.
Thank you for all your support and understanding,
