NATIONAL THEATRE SUPPORTS YOUNG WRITERS AT PENTREHAFOD

Last week, 8 young talented writers from Year 10 were lucky to attend a workshop funded by the National Theatre in London.

Matt Hartley, a writer from Cardiff, came  to school to support learners with the plays they will be writing as part of the New Views writing competition. The pupils will write their own playscripts for a national competition. Focusing on real experience and original perspectives, the pupils will enter their final drafts to the National Theatre for judging. The shortlisted entrants then see their play transformed to a real stage production. Is the next up-and-coming Welsh playwright already at work, here in Pentrehafod? We’ll find out in the Spring…
