Pentrehafod Celebrates Success
Celebrating Success – Presentation Evening 2017
On June 22nd, governors, staff, students and families came together at Pentrehafod School to join in a Celebration of Success Evening. Department Leaders and Learning Leaders were asked to nominate students who had demonstrated excellent Attitude to Learning and/or excellent progress.
The presentation began at 7pm, but ‘early bird’ parents and carers were able to enjoy an exhibition of the year 11 Art, Textiles and Photography work. The standards in this area of the curriculum are very high with many students being awarded the top grades for innovative and diverse products.
Former Pentrehafod student, Zubaid Kousha, returned to Pentrehafod and spoke to the audience about his own experience at the school. His story (please see the programme) is inspiring.
The Presentation Evening itself included the awarding of department certificates, Reviews of the Year and some excellent musical performances. The final awards were the Learning Leaders’ Awards as to be recognised as the student of that year group is very special.
The final words of the evening came from Mr Riordan, who talked about his experiences at Pentrehafod and described it as the school ‘most close to his heart’. As a school we wish Mr Riordan well as he prepares to step down from his Deputy Head post.
A very big thank to all involved in making this occasion so very special; teaching and non-teaching staff had really contributed to making it a very memorable evening of celebration.
