Pentrehafod exchange visit to Zambia
In September 2018 Pentrehafod School was privileged to become part of a cluster team in the British Council’s ‘Connecting Classrooms’ initiative. The programme has enabled us to continue to develop and maintain an equitable and sustainable partnership with Ziavonga High School in Zambia, which began in 2014.
The main aims for the exchange programme have been to raise awareness of the global issue of plastic pollution and to develop creative and authentic pupil-to-pupil projects that enable pupils to become more active global citizens.
The exciting, challenging and rewarding exchange visit to Zambia took place in July 2019. Two members of staff from Pentrehafod School, Mrs Lisa Francis and Miss Julie Rymer, together with Beth Thomas (City and County of Swansea Rights Respecting School Coordinator) worked closely with our partner teachers from Zambia to plan and organise the successful exchange programme.
