Pentrehafod School goes BIG: World Book Day becomes World Book Fortnight!!
This year National World Book Day falls on March 1. This posed a bit of a problem as we are keen Eisteddfod Champions… The solution was to go bigger and do World Book Fortnight! This celebration of books and culture means that everyone can get involved and everyone is getting involved. All departments have contributed a Scheme of Learning so there will be opportunities to explore books and learning across the curriculum. The Eisteddfod on March 1 involves years 7 and 8 and there are real opportunities here to absorb Welsh traditions. WHS are running a Book Fair at Pentrehafod on Wednesday and the whole School Production of ‘We Will Rock You; is running from March 5th (Dress Rehearsal for the Primary Schools) to March 8th.
On Monday 26th February all Year 7 students have been invited to dress up as a character from a chosen book. (Please note that these should be recognisable characters from books). Staff are also joining in the fun and will be dressing up as characters too.
Please watch this space for future World Book Fortnight updates.
