Pentrehafod Students part of National Service Celebrating the Centenary of the Royal Air Force

Pentrehafod students prepared and delivered key speeches on the history of the RAF, including its foundation, its part in World War 2, the Cold War and the role of the modern Royal Air Force. Cerys Pridmore (year 7), Ashton Hartnoll (year 8), Josh Walters (year 9) and Sumaiya Choudhury (year 10) wrote and presented these speeches to a packed audience of special guests, including RAF officials. Their families were there to support them and were proud of them, as were Pentrehafod staff.
The service was followed by a special parade around the city centre and more Pentrehafod students took part in this, looking incredibly smart in their cadet uniforms.
A huge thank you to the Revd Canon Ian Rees for inviting our students to be part of this very special day and to Miss Rhia Evans, Pentrehafod History teacher who worked closely with Ian and the young people.
