Provision of food for Free School Meals students (Updated)
Dear Parents/Carers
We would like to clarify the school’s strategy with regarding food provision for Free School Meals students during the Coronavirus outbreak.
Free School Meal students (socially distancing at home)
From Monday 23rd March onwards, our catering team will be offering “Grab and Go” bags for all FSM students to pick up from the school reception area between 12 noon and 1pm. We would ask all FSM pupils collecting these bags to vacate the school grounds immediately afterwards and to observe appropriate social distancing as much as possible.
The number of bags produced by our kitchen staff will be reviewed on a daily basis. Please could you inform the school by 9am if you intend to collect a ‘Grab and Go’ bag.
The food provided will be: Packed lunches (filled roll, bottle of water, fruit, muffin or yoghurt)
Choices will be limited and, initially, there will be no hot food served. This will be kept under review, but this is an emergency situation; we have to cater for a large number of students and food safety needs to be adhered to at all times to ensure a safe meal is provided.
