Shakespeare School’s Festival
Pentrehafod School’s year 10 Drama students, accompanied by a group of year 7 students took to the stage at the Taliesin Theatre, Swansea to perform ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ by William Shakespeare. The performance was part of the Shakespeare Schools Festival, where each Autumn nearly 30,000 young people from primary, secondary and special schools across the country unite in the world’s largest youth drama festival.
After months of preparation and rehearsal, students wowed an audience of almost 300 people with our own unique, slick and stylish performance. The amazing talent of our young people shone through to present one of Shakespeare’s most renowned comedies. One of our year 9 pupils, Joshua Walters had a fantastic opportunity to be our lighting technician for the show, and did an excellent job not only to ensure our actors were well lit, but to also add effect and atmosphere to our play. Well done to all involved!
Next we are involved in preparations for our annual Christmas busking and evening concert events! Watch this space for a chance to see the fantastic talent at Pentrehafod School.
