Student Parliament take up training opportunities at Swansea University
On Friday 24th November the four cabinets of our School Parliament visited Swansea University for the first of five training sessions for 2017 and 2018. The University, under the leadership of Dr Anthony Charles, are bringing together around fifteen years of research in the Understanding Participation project. Pentrehafod School is very fortunate in being the main secondary school to be involved in this work and we are very grateful for this opportunity.
The morning saw all the cabinets working together and agreeing one key focus per cabinet for this year’s work.
Teaching and Learning Cabinet: Student interaction in lessons
Standards and Provision: School Uniform as a standard for the school,
Ethos and Wellbeing: Ensuring that all students know their voice can be heard
Finance and Resources: Improving the Fire Drill practice; the goal: a silent fire drill!
All projects are very ambitious and we all look forward to the cabinets driving ahead with this work.
Sincere thanks to Dr Charles, Andrew Jenkins, Helen Dale and Jane Williams for supporting our students and giving us such a warm welcome at the Singleton Campus.
