Update for all Parents/Carers for Week beginning 6th July 2020
Dear all
It was lovely to see our students return last week and to start working in their ‘pods’ (these are the small groups we have organised them into for the ‘Check in, Catch up and Prepare’ sessions). Behaviour and attitude to learning has been excellent. The sessions will now run for the same times for the next two weeks (term ends on July 17th). Please can you remind all students to continue with their remote learning as this continues to be set. If you are not choosing to send your children in then there is still work for them to do remotely until Friday 17th July.
If you are entitled to Free School Meals but are not registered on the direct bank transfer then please be mindful that the Local Authority have taken control over the delivery of the parcels from July 6th. You will need to contact them directly if there is a problem/concern.
Arrangements for September 2020
We have not yet had any directive from Welsh Government so can not yet tell you definite plans for September. However, we are planning for 3 scenarios:
- Everyone back to school
- School continuing with the 2m Risk Assessment planning (what we are doing now)
- A move to 1m guidelines with new Risk Assessment guidelines.
It could be argued that scenario 3 is the more likely scenario and if this is the case then we will be able to accommodate three year groups on site at any time, with a continuation of remote learning.
At present we are planning for the three scenarios. I will write to all families directly next week to let you know the planning for different year groups.
Thank you for your support and patience at what has been a very challenging time for all of us.
Best wishes
Jennifer Ford
