Students’ Welcome

  • Home
  • Students’ Welcome

Welcome to our school website.

Pentrehafod is a school which promotes a positive and nurturing environment in which all pupils are able to thrive and become the best they can be.

It is the first secondary school in Wales to gain the UNICEF Level 2 Rights Respecting Award; the highest level obtainable. This means that both staff and pupils alike have a thorough understanding of child rights, and this is something that we take great pride in as a school.

Furthermore, Pentrehafod is a school which has seen a significant improvement in GCSE results throughout the last 5 years. This is testament to our teachers’ continued efforts in supporting us; through teaching us in ways we understand and providing us with the opportunity to attend extra classes, should we so wish.

Student voice is an integral aspect of life at Pentrehafod. Recently, we have set up a ‘student parliament’ system; which allows pupils of all ages and abilities to share their views and thoughts about our school.

It is an incredibly exciting time at Pentrehafod as we are currently undergoing a whole-school refurbishment, which will result in state-of-the-art facilities for every pupil at our school.

In addition, we enjoy particularly strong links with our partner primary schools and this is complemented by the extensive programmes that take place at Pentrehafod for local pupils nearing the end of their primary education.

Pentrehafod has a proud tradition of producing and supporting talented sportsmen and women; with several pupils boasting international honours in their respective sports. We also enjoy frequent success through local competitions in sports such as netball, football and rugby.

Thank you for taking the time to visit our school website.

Yours sincerely,

Student Parliament.
