More Able & Talented (MAT) Pupils
Our aim at Pentrehafod School is to improve the educational outcomes for all students. This is realised through the development of a curriculum which challenges all of our students. Pentrehafod School works collectively with its cluster schools and a range of other providers including colleges and universities to ensure that we prepare our students for life both academically, and socially; who will be resilient and able to face the challenges that lie ahead.
All students, including more able and talented students, should develop themselves as ambitious and capable students, equipped with skills as lifelong learners.
Students are offered a wide range of rich experiences and opportunities which enhance the curriculum and enable all students to develop potential talents and expeirences. For example, in Mathematics, MAT students participate in the UK Mathematics Trust competitions, in year 10 and 11 we engage with the SEREN network and in P.E. students are offered to attend local trials. We have a number of creative opportunities which develop MAT students both artistically and creatively including our school production.
