Student Parliament
Pentrehafod is a school which promotes a positive and nurturing environment in which all pupils are able to thrive and become the best they can be.
It is the first secondary school in Wales to gain the UNICEF Level 2 Rights Respecting Award; the highest level obtainable. This means that both staff and pupils alike have a thorough understanding of child rights and this is something that we take great pride in as a school.
Student voice is an integral aspect of life at Pentrehafod. Recently, we have restructured our Student Parliament. This allows pupils of all ages and abilities to share their views and thoughts about our school. Within the Student Parliament, there are four cabinets which prioritise specific areas: arts and culture, equality and justice, community and health and well-being. Within these cabinets, our commissioners and MSPs (Members of Student Parliament) work to bring attention to areas that they are concerned about and to create exciting projects that they are passionate about.
Across the academic year, they engage in half-termly projects which include as many and as diverse a range as possible of our pupil population. These projects allow for our pupils to enact and experience real change as a result of their hard work.
Thank you for taking the time to visit our school website.
Yours sincerely,
Student Parliament.
