Transition at Pentrehafod School

The transition process from primary school into secondary school is a very important milestone in a young person’s development. We appreciate that whilst this can be incredibly exciting it can also be a time when you feel a little nervous or have lots of questions about what will happen when you walk through the school doors on your first day. Rest assured this perfectly normal.

At Pentrehafod School, we place great emphasis on both the academic and pastoral transition needs of all of our students. An important part of our transition programme is the development of our Empathy Charter, underpinned by the Empathy First Day Poem. This is designed to ensure that all of the students transferring to Pentrehafod School, empathise with one another and treat each other with respect and kindness at the start and throughout their time at our school.

The transition section of our school website has been designed to support your academic development, ensuring that you arrive at the school with the necessary knowledge and skills to support you your subject areas. These will be available from June 7th and can be used between then and the time that you start the school in September.
