The World Reimagined
In 2022 years 7 and 11 have been involved in The World Reimagined, looking at how we can come to terms with some of the negative events of the past, and move forward respectfully and positively. As well as working on the globe which is at the Waterfront Museum as part of the Swansea Globe Trail, we are working on a mural in school. We would like to share in a book some of the pictures, but also write some poetry to accompany the images - will you get involved over half term? What can you come up with?
Our themes have been:
- What is your identity and how can you celebrate it and acknowledge that we are all different, unique and equal?
- What would the world look like without war, violence and bullying?
- How can we bring about gender equality, LGBTQ+ equality, and race equality so that everyone feels valued?
- How can we work together to look after planet earth? What can we do and say to make things better? (What do you think of littering, pollution, recycling and the environment?)
- How can we better look after each other's wellbeing?
- Who has a right to education, food, water, and medicine?
- What are compassion, courage and respect?
- What connects us and brings us together?
Remember a poem doesn't have to rhyme (but it can), it can take so many different forms such as sonnet, haiku, limerick, ode and free verse to name but a few.
See what you can come up with over half term and your poem may end up in the book celebrating Ysgol Pentrehafod's World Reimagined!
